About Tim

Meet Tim! In a distant past, he worked as a greengrocer and newspaper delivery guy, but now he is a full-time Junior Software Developer at Harmonizer. And we are very happy about that!

Tim used to study International Relations, but he quickly decided that it wasn't quite right for him. In 2023, he changed course and pursued the Full Stack Developer program at Your Future Academy (an organization located under Harmonizer, in the same building). On a typical weekday morning, Tim unsuspectingly walked into Harmonizer's office on the third floor of the building, seeking advice on how to present himself to potential employers in his search for an internship. His search quickly ended then, as Guido and Thom offered Tim an internship almost immediately. They were so enthusiastic about him! Tim then interned at Harmonizer for six months and has been working full-time as a Junior Software Developer since February 2024. Simply a lucky case of 'I stumbled into it by accident'...

What makes Tim suitable for his work at Harmonizer? Well, his immense dedication and problem-solving ability. On a typical workday, Tim tackles tickets with tasks to be implemented. In between, he regularly consults with colleagues, and of course, there's Mario Kart playing during breaks. Tim openly admits that he's not the best at it... because hey, you can't be the best at everything. Troubleshooting is also a regular part of his workday. Although he performs tasks alone, there's also a lot of room for discussion and contact with colleagues.

Tim is most excited about developing new features that can actually be used in other projects. "The most fun is when you encounter a problem and have to brainstorm with colleagues on how to solve it," he says. New features could be creating a new option in the interface, like a new table with some new possibilities, or optimizing the so-called WorkerBlocks that Harmonizer works with.

Tim describes working at Harmonizer as cozy and personal. Since there’s currently only a small number of people working, there's a lot of direct contact without a management layer in between. In other words, if someone wants to discuss something with a colleague, regardless of their position, they can do so directly!

In his mind, Tim still considers himself an avid runner, but the truth is he hasn't done it in years. He doesn't really get to do much sports at the moment, but he does enjoy walking. Like his colleagues, gaming is one of his hobbies, and he always enjoys a good book and he’s particularly delighted by Indian curry.
